Frequently asked questions
Everything about webhook push notifications with Webhooky. Missing something? Ask us directly.
Getting started
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You copy your personal link from the Webhooky app and paste it into the webhook settings of the service you want notifications from. If you can copy-paste, you're all set. Developers get a tiny HTTP API on top.
Which services work with Webhooky?
Any service that can send a webhook or an HTTP POST request. That includes Shopify, Stripe, PayPal, WooCommerce, Zapier, Make, IFTTT, GitHub, GitLab, uptime monitors like UptimeRobot, Home Assistant, form builders like Typeform or Tally – and thousands more.
What exactly is a webhook?
A webhook is an automatic message one app sends to a URL when something happens – like “a new order was placed”. Webhooky gives you such a URL and turns everything sent to it into a push notification on your phone. It doesn't have to be a webhook, though – any HTTP POST request to your link triggers a notification, including calls straight from your own code.
How do I test my setup?
Open your endpoint URL in a browser. You'll get a test page where you can type a title and message and send yourself a notification with one click.
Notifications
How fast are notifications delivered?
Typically in under a second. Webhooky uses Apple's and Google's native push services (APNs/FCM), the same infrastructure as messaging apps.
Can I choose different sounds?
Yes – 21 sounds are included, from a cash register “cha-ching” to bells, coins and level-up sounds. Each endpoint has its own sound, so you can hear the difference between an order and a server alert.
Can the notification text be dynamic?
Yes. Send title and message in the JSON body of your POST request and they replace the configured texts for that one notification. Details in the API docs.
Can I use Webhooky on multiple devices?
Yes. Notifications are delivered to every device signed in to your account – phone and tablet, iOS and Android mixed.
Can I see past events?
Yes, the app keeps a history of received webhooks per endpoint. Enable store payload to also keep the full JSON body of each event.
Security & privacy
Is my endpoint URL secure?
Your endpoint contains a long random key that works like a password. Only share it with services that should notify you. If a URL leaks, delete the endpoint in the app – it stops working instantly – and create a new one.
What data does Webhooky store?
Webhook events (time, endpoint, delivered texts) for your in-app history. Request payloads are only stored if you explicitly enable it per endpoint. See the privacy policy for details.
Pricing
Is Webhooky free?
The free plan includes 100 push notifications with every feature unlocked. Premium removes the limit for €4.99/month or €29.99/year – see pricing.
How do I cancel Premium?
Directly in Google Play or the App Store under “Subscriptions”. The subscription ends at the close of the current billing period.
