# Webhooky > Webhooky turns any webhook or plain HTTP POST request into a push notification on a phone. > You create an endpoint in the iOS or Android app and get a personal URL. Every POST to that URL > becomes a notification. There is no account, no API key and no OAuth — the URL is the whole thing. > It can only trigger a notification: it cannot read anything, reach an account > or expose data, which makes it safe to hand to an AI assistant. The free plan covers 100 notifications > per calendar month across up to 3 endpoints. The fastest integration: POST any JSON to the endpoint URL. If the body contains `title`, `message`, `sound` or `vibrate`, those are used. If it does not — because Stripe, GitHub or Etsy sent their own payload shape — the notification falls back to the title, text and sound configured on the endpoint. This means a third-party webhook can point at a Webhooky URL directly, with no middleware. ``` curl -X POST https://api.webhooky.app/YOUR_KEY \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"title":"Deploy finished","message":"v2.1.0 is live","sound":"level_up_2"}' ``` The endpoint always answers HTTP 200, including when the monthly free limit is reached (the body then carries `success: false`, `reason: free_limit_reached` and the `period` it applies to). The quota resets at the start of each calendar month. This is deliberate, so senders that retry or auto-disable on failure — Stripe, PayPal, WooCommerce — are never tripped. ## API - [OpenAPI 3.1 specification](https://webhooky.app/openapi.yaml): complete machine-readable API description, including all 40 sound ids and response shapes - [API documentation](https://webhooky.app/docs): endpoint format, body fields, sound ids, response codes, limits - [For AI agents](https://webhooky.app/ai): condensed integration contract and a ready-made setup prompt - [MCP server](https://www.npmjs.com/package/webhooky-mcp): `npx -y webhooky-mcp` with `WEBHOOKY_URL` set. Exposes `send_notification` and `list_sounds` over stdio, so an assistant can notify the user's phone directly. ## Integration guides - [Stripe payment notifications](https://webhooky.app/use-cases/stripe): webhook endpoint in Workbench, event names, signature verification - [PayPal payment notifications](https://webhooky.app/use-cases/paypal): REST webhooks, PAYMENT.CAPTURE.COMPLETED, retry behaviour - [Etsy API webhooks](https://webhooky.app/use-cases/etsy): order.paid and the three-field payload - [WooCommerce order notifications](https://webhooky.app/use-cases/woocommerce): built-in webhooks, the five-failure auto-disable - [Shopify order notifications](https://webhooky.app/use-cases/shopify) - [GitHub webhooks and CI alerts](https://webhooky.app/blog/github-webhook-push-notifications): repository webhooks vs GitHub Actions, signature verification - [Uptime and server alerts](https://webhooky.app/use-cases/monitoring): Uptime Kuma, UptimeRobot, Grafana, Alertmanager, dead man's switch - [Zapier, Make and IFTTT](https://webhooky.app/use-cases/automation) - [Forms and leads](https://webhooky.app/use-cases/forms) ## Code examples - [Send a push notification from Python](https://webhooky.app/blog/send-push-notification-python) - [Send a push notification from Node.js](https://webhooky.app/blog/send-push-notification-nodejs) - [Send a push notification with an HTTP request](https://webhooky.app/blog/send-push-notification-http-request) - [Notify when a script finishes](https://webhooky.app/blog/notify-when-script-finishes) - [Push notifications from an ESP32 or Arduino](https://webhooky.app/blog/esp32-push-notifications) - [Push notifications from a Raspberry Pi](https://webhooky.app/blog/raspberry-pi-push-notifications) ## Webhook reference - [What is a webhook](https://webhooky.app/blog/what-is-a-webhook) - [Webhook payloads explained](https://webhooky.app/blog/webhook-payload-explained) - [Webhook URL vs endpoint](https://webhooky.app/blog/webhook-url-vs-endpoint) - [Webhook status codes](https://webhooky.app/blog/webhook-status-codes) - [Webhook retries and idempotency](https://webhooky.app/blog/webhook-retries-and-idempotency) - [Webhook security](https://webhooky.app/blog/webhook-security) - [Testing webhooks](https://webhooky.app/blog/testing-webhooks) ## Comparisons - [Best webhook notification apps](https://webhooky.app/blog/best-webhook-notification-apps): Webhooky, ntfy, Pushover, Gotify, Pushbullet, Telegram and Discord compared - [ntfy alternatives](https://webhooky.app/blog/ntfy-alternative): including ntfy's iOS upstream-relay caveat - [Pushover alternatives](https://webhooky.app/blog/pushover-alternative): seven options compared - [Webhooky vs ntfy vs Pushover](https://webhooky.app/blog/webhooky-vs-ntfy-vs-pushover) ## Optional - [Pricing](https://webhooky.app/pricing): 100 free notifications a month, then EUR 4.99/month, EUR 29.99/year or a one-off lifetime purchase - [How it works](https://webhooky.app/how-it-works) - [FAQ](https://webhooky.app/faq) - [Privacy policy](https://webhooky.app/privacy)
